Et bien figurez-vous qu'on vient de découvrir que ce titre a été enregistré et est sorti en face B du single "Let Me Let You Rock Me", un 45t de Sue Ann Carwell sorti en 1981.

Sue Ann Carwell est une chanteuse qui a navigué dans l'entourage de Prince pendant un temps, et notament aux alentours de 1980-1982 (il l'a notament fait monter sur scène lors du concert du 1st Avenue à Minneapolis le 8 mars 1982).
Résultat un titre très années 80, qui je trouve a bien plus de pêche que l'original et sonne moins niais. Peut-être parce que les paroles, dites par une femme passent mieux que quand c'est Prince ?
La voix en falsetto sucrée, pour le coup, ne m'est jamais parue opportune pour ce titre.
Mais très sincèrement j'ai toujours adoré ce titre très pop, très dance, très léger, pour sa simplicité et son ton résolument joyeux (bien que l'on parle de rupture dans le texte).
