Prince n'était pas présent, un membre de Housequake a posté ceci en explication :
"Was in the queue for the aftershow when the most amazing thing happened & I share this with a couple of orgers & several quakers.
Standing near the back of the guy, an American security guard came out at about 12:30 & said that the awards had gone on 45 minutes longer than expected, floor was very wet, be careful & enjoy a great show!
A few of us were excited by these words (as we shared Dr John disappointments) when 5 minutes later a funky white Merc reversed from the Dome & a couple of us looked at the blacked out windows when...
You guessed it...
Prince opened the back door & ran over to us (only a few metres away). He jumped up at the fence & said 'Did I scare you?',
He was very chilled & relaxed (wearing a black outfit & scarf), I think we all had a second or 2 of shock & disbelief before we went over to the fence. Prince turned round & said 'I'm not playing tonight, tomorrow. I need to save my voice' & he did sound croaky.
We all then kind of spoke at him, asking if he was serious & he said he needed to rest up & guess there was about 10 of us within a couple of foot of him standing talking to him. He got back in to the Merc & sped along the back of the dome & we all kinda looked at each other in disbelief (& relishing the experience).
Others next to us hadn't really notice it happen either which was funny.
It must of only been for about 15/20 seconds but was incredibly special to me. To see him whip the stage & crowd up as a performer, singing & screaming, then an hour later hear him talk & be so relaxed with us all was absolutely mental & within inches (& a bit of fence).
One comment from someone was about going to the box office & getting money back, but we all kind of joked that they'd never believe that you'd just spoken to Prince & he said he wasn't playing.
I know the rest of the guys have stayed in hope that he was joking with us & I admit will be gutted if he did play."
