So, we are being told that Prince and John Blackwell (One Funky Drummer) were riding around last Sunday listening to Prince’s new music.
The doors of the Cadillac, named after Miles Davis apparently because of it’s color, were shaking like mad! That’s the first thing you notice about the music is the velocity of it. The other thing that grabbed John right away is:
“The funk from the bass, the synth sound from the keys, and the legendary Prince drum sounds you know and love. Right away, you will make a funky face and would wanna re-title it “Controversy-The Saga Continues” because you hear the flavor of that time in the music. Every track is nonstop funk in yo face!!!!!! 3-D Style….Prince’s new music truly gets a big fat cigar.”

- Prince a un album dans le tuyau et il s'amuse à le faire écouter à droite à gauche pour se faire mousser.
- Ce sera un album funk (scoop ! lol)
- La Linn-Drum est de retour.
On nous avait averti il y a quelques mois que Prince avait ressorti son antique et néanmoins légendaire boite à rythmes (pour une soirée VIP).
De là à imaginer qu'il ne s'est pas contenté de jouer avec quelques heures, il n'y a qu'un pas, que nous pouvons allègrement franchir désormais. Et c'est tant mieux.
Faisons contre mauvaise fortune bon coeur : nous devrons certes passer tout l'hiver vant d'entendre le moindre extrait, mais au moins avons-nous la certitude que Prince ne s'est pas contenté de glander en 2008, et voilà notre album de 2009 quasiment assuré.
En attendant, il vous reste quand même des remix à écouter...
